Yes. The rinky dinky six year old laptop is dead. Replaced by a new, shiney HP... with a 22in screen!~ My iPod and Crazer seem a lot smaller than they use to, now that I have this MASSIVE screen. I had the honor of re-installing all of the programs we need and so on. Yeah, 6 hours down the drain... But, it was so worth it. The keyboard wouldn't work for a while and I got really anxious... but then I noticed this thing called a tablet PC with an on screen keyboard. So I uninstalled that, and now the keyboard is working without a hitch! I haven't tried drawing anything recently, but I'm going to bust out my tablet later today and see if my drawing is distorted by this massive screen.

Vista is pretty much a dressed up XP. I'm not impressed... at all. I spend more time getting lost in this interface than doing what I should be doing. D8

I haven't updated this thing in a long time. Been too busy reading the yummy ficlets going around and playing Ragnarok Online. Yeah, I'm addicted. But it's a free MMORPG. I'm allowed to be addicted.

I have some original stuff on the back burner that I'll be posting here once I start writing it. I have a basic plot and characters so far. I have to essentially design a medieval world though, so don't expect anything soon. If you'd like to know more, drop me a line. I need some help working out kinks, so if you don't mind me throwing ideas at you, or have the consistancey of a brick wall, let's chat it up!

If I learnt anything today it was that...

staying after to school to help a teacher grade tests is so worth it. Not only did I get 2 community hours, I got 3 extra points on our last test and promise of doughnuts. Damn, I love my teacher. Oh, and the major brownie points. Those come in handy. Grading all of those tests was like watching paint dry. Oodles of fun.

I have nothing more to say. Cheerio.

Title: The Salikawood – Original, I know.
Pairing: Basch/Penelo, slight Balthier/Ashe
Rating: G
Words: 1,537
Summary: The party sets up camp in the Salikawood and Penelo wanders off and ends up falling off of the main path. Guess who gets her. Set during game.
Author’s note: I felt like I had to write something nice, fluffy and happy for Penelo and Basch, so this came out. I’ve always personally loved the Salikawood, so I thought I’d write something set there. First time at really writing Basch also… Tell me what you think, please? And yeah, title is because I can't think of a better one!

On a totally unrelated note, I saw (this) as a  thumbnail, and thought it looked like Basch was discoing... any of you talented iconmakers want to make one? 8D

What Hurts the Most - Basch/Penelo

Title: What Hurts the Most
Pairing: Basch/Penelo
Disclaimer: Don’t own Final Fantasy XII, and what hurts the most belongs to Cascada.
Summary: Penelo laments over how she'll never see Basch again. Post game. Some spoilers if you haven't seen the epilogue at the end of the game.
Word count: 489
Author’s Note: My first attempt at Basch/Penelo. After reading so many wonderful Basch/Penelo's I just had to give it a try. This was inspired by the song What Hurts the most, from Cascada. I suggest you listen to it, or read the lyrics. I ended up focusing more on Penelo's feelings than Basch and her, but oh well. Constructive criticism please.

A couple of weeks ago, my pre ap english class took a test called the "Degrees of Reading Power". It was a simple test; one where they have a passage with a word missing, and several options on the side. You fill in the correct letter on the bubble sheet and so on. The words on the test were hardly difficult, and I zoomed through it in one period. This past Thursday we got the results back, and i got a 69/70. Oh, I was pissed. 69/70 is still reading at college graduate level, but I was striving for that 70/70. But after talking to my peers, it seems that everyone who actually was able to score that high, only recieved a 69/70 also. The last passage was probably where I missed my one point. They chose an economic article... I'll just leave it at that.

Let's get to the point, shall we? This test was extremely easy; the vocabulary were words that were everyday normal words. There weren't any conundrums and certainly no pestiferous, word wise. Which leads me to question how well this test can accurately tell someone how well - or not well in some cases - they read. It seemed more like a waste of time, than it's results were worth. The results page was... well just see for yourself!

(It's rather ugly...)

And doesn't really tell me anything... besides my raw score. Which I guess is all that matters...?

Could Do Without - Over and Done With.

What? You haven't heard of CDW? What hole have you been living in?! - Ah, just kidding. I'd be more surprised if you actually knew what I was talking about. Unless you're an avid Yuffentine fan... then you may have heard of this. (Could Do Without) is a drabble type monster one shot that evolved into a 96 chapter long story with over 1000 reviews on Fanfiction.net. I started writing CDW on September 29, 2006. I was sitting in the back of Mr. Poulin's health class and had finished doing definitions early. I had recently played Final Fantasy 7 for my 20th time - Yeah, I was obsessed - so a brilliant idea popped into my head. "Hey, I have nothing better to do, let's write something about my favorite brooding gunman and hyper ninja!" So, I started to write, on a single piece of college ruled paper. I wrote from Yuffie's point of view, of course, because her and I share many personality traits - like talking a lot - her character came easily to me. It really isn't that hard to write Vincent either; "..." is all he says most of the time. So, I spent the last couple of minutes of class writing, and that was how this all started. I'd recently found the wonders of fanfiction.net before writing this story, so you can imagine how excited I was to go home and type out this little drabble of mine. I typed it up, uploaded it, and got numerous reviews. I had planned on it being a one shot, but due to popular demand - yeah, 5 people, real popular - i wrote a second chapter, and instead of being a drabble that wrote to prompts, I would write to phrases. [Like; don't look a gift horse in the mouth, and so on] People loved the idea, they fell in love with CDW. I enjoyed writing CDW for a very long time, as i mentioned above, Yuffie and I may as well be the same person, so writing her came naturally, and I included bits and pieces of myself into her. I also included situation from my own life into CDW and worked in situations that i found funny. I developed my own kind of writing style with this story. I can't explain it exactly, but, it's like a peephole into Yuffie's mind, as she surveys the world around her... or something like that. For a very long time, I loved writing CDW and my love for the Yuffentine pairing flourished. In the beginning I could whip chapters out of no where at a moments noticed, but as time passed, I started to get bored with Yuffie and Vincent and updates were harder to come by. I'm not exactly sure why, but CDW started to feel more like a chore, than the fun I was having in the beginning. I became interested in other things, and my focus started to wander. This continued on for several months... And, after a year and four months, i've finally decided to end CDW. The chapters I was writing were hardly worth reading, and I had to make a hard decision about whether to end CDW on a good note, or drag it out till it was stretched and withered. So, i feel a bit sad to be letting this go, but it's for the best. Time to move on to bigger and better!
